The potential economic and environmental benefits of treetopping™ will naturally vary from woodland to woodland, depending on the individual characteristics of the woodlands themselves, site conditions and the owner’s management objectives.

In most cases, WindFirm will undertake an initial, assessment of the woodland to determine its suitability for treetopping™, based on the owner’s management objectives. Where necessary a field survey of the woodland will then be carried out to obtain more detailed information in order to prepare for the owner a cost benefit analysis, technical recommendations, a treetopping™ programme for the life time of the plantation(s) concerned and a quotation for the for treetopping™ operations.

Once the scope of tree-topping™ operations is agreed with the woodland owner, WindFirm Ltd will then organise and supervise implementation of the treetopping™ programme, using fully trained and accredited contractors.
